Google Webmaster is a tool for Website owners (and bloggers too) and if you want your site to appear in search engines then this post is for you.
When you submit your site to Google Webmaster, it gets indexed and crawled so your site and contents (posts) are seen on search engines.
Not only does it bring your contents to search engines, there are other great features at your disposal like submitting a sitemap, setting a custom Robots.txt and monitoring your site's search performance. What is Google Webmaster
As the name implies, Google Webmaster (or Search console) is a platform where Webmasters manage their Websites SEO performance. How to submit your site to Google Webmaster
- Sign in to Google search console page and click on Add property.
- Enter your Web address and click on Add The next page that opens is where you'll verify your site ownership (if you're on blogger free domain i.e if your site address ends with .blogspot.com your site gets automatically verified). There are different methods to verify your site ownership but the easiest is by HTML Tag (you can use any method).
- To use HTML Tag, click on HTML file upload and copy the code you see.
- Go to your Blogger dashboard, click on Template and click on Edit HTML.
- Paste the code you copied earlier immediately after the opening <head> tag and save template.
- Go back to the Search console page and click on Verify. You should now see your site verified on the Search console page.
