The competition in the Smartphone market seems to be pretty high lately. We've witnessed a series of Smartphones launching by various companies and in 2017 alone, more than six smartphones have been launched. The Old ones are gradually fading out while the new ones take the lead, even smartphones users don’t need to be left behind thus they try to keep up with the tide.
Among these smartphones, there are outstanding ones that are taking the lead. They are rated according to their build and performance. Let’s take a look at some of them:
Samsung Galaxy S8
Samsung Galaxy S8 was launched in April 2017 and is currently the number one award winning smartphone in the smartphones industry. It brought back the glory of its manufacturer after having a failed Galaxy Note 7 reported to have caught fire.
The Galaxy S8 sells for $669 and features a 5.8-inch screen size, water resistant, a fingerprint scanner, Android 7.0, 300mAh battery, 8MP front camera, 12MP rear camera, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM and 4G LTE network. It also has some features not previously in the Galaxy series such as Bixby and having no physical home button.

A review from Android Authority shows the Galaxy S8 has an overall rating of 8.9. One interesting thing about Samsung Galaxy S8 is its ability to connect to two Bluetooth headphones at the same time and play music through them simultaneously.
One Plus 5
One plus 5 was released on 27 June 2017 and sells for $479. With an overall rating of 8.8, it features a high end metal build, 5.5-inch screen size, dual rear camera (Main 16MP & Telephoto 20MP), 16MP front camera, fingerprint sensor, 64GB ROM & 6GB RAM (slate gray), 128GB ROM & 8GB RAM (midnight black), Android 7.1.1, 3300mAh battery, dual nano sim and 4G LTE.
OnePlus is a Shenzhen based Chinese smartphone manufacturer founded by Pete Lau. It unveiled its first device, the OnePlus One, on 23 April 2014 and since then, the Company has been making a lot of successes from its smartphones. The company’s latest flagship device is the One plus 5.
iPhone 7
iPhone 7 belonging to Apple was released on 21 September 2016 sells for $826. With an overall rating of 8.7, it features a click free home button, 4.7-inch screen size, nano sim, water resistant, iOS 10.0.1 (upgradable to iOS 10.3.3), 32GB/128GB/256GB ROM, 2GB RAM, 12MP rear camera, 7MP back camera, fingerprint sensor, 1960mAh battery and 4G LTE.
Apple has also made a name for its smartphones which run on iOS, unlike other top rated smartphones that run on Android OS. Apple seems to be the only company that uses iOS, unlike Windows and Android where we have a lot of manufacturers there. iPhone 7 is Apple’s latest flagship device however, rumors have it that iPhone 8 is expected to be released before the end of 2017.
LG G6
LG G6 was released in March 2017 and sells for $500. With an overall rating of 8.5, it features a 5.7-inch screen size, water resistant, Android 7.0, 3300mAh battery, 32GB/64GB/128GB ROM, 4GB RAM, dual 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, fingerprint sensor and 4G LTE.
LG is one of the top rated smartphones manufacturers and is well recognized mostly for its G series beginning from G2 but the G6 is the best among them so far and is built for usability.
LG is a South Korean company in South Korea and its latest flagship device is the LG G6 but we are soon expecting LG V20. Apart from smartphones, LG is also known for other electronics like its outstanding smart TVs.
Huawei Mate 9
Huawei mate 9 was released in December 2016. With an overall rating of 8.4, it features a 5.9-inch screen size, 64GB ROM, 4GB RAM, Android 7.1, 4000mAh battery, dual rear camera (20MP + 12MP), 8MP front camera, fingerprint sensor and 4G LTE.
The Chinese telecom company is also one of the top rated smartphones manufacturers and it made a shot with its Mate 9 by taking on Samsung’s Galaxy S7. Mate 9 was released in the US on 6 January 2017 and is currently Huawei’s latest flagship device.
